By-poll: Distribution of polling materials from Friday

Thursday, March 15, 2012: The Chief Electoral officer Nalini Netto has informed that the by-election to the Piravom Assembly constituency would begin at 7 am on Saturday.
Addressing the reporters at a press meet held here on Thursday, Nalini informed that the out of the 26 sensitive booths identified in Piravom, web casting facility would be made available in 14 booths.
The polling materials would be distributed from tomorrow, she added. Voters should either produce the voter’s identity card or the voter’s slip issued by the Election Commission. The vote counting would begin at 8am on March 21 at the Nirmala Junior School, Muvattupuzha, she said.
An inquiry would be conducted on the LDF complaint that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had violated the model code of conduct by conducting road shows in Piravom, Netto added.
