Explosion in Vellayani cracker unit,five injured

Sunday, March 24, 2012: Five workers were injured in an explosion at a cracker manufacturing unit in Vellayani here on Sunday. The condition of two are serious.
The deceased has been identified as Vishnu(22), Unni(28), Vishnu(18),Shivakumar,Velappan(68).All hailing from Vellayani.
The injured has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram medical college.
Police officials and forensic experts visited the spot and collected evidence.
The cracker units in the state are having a hectic season in view of the ongoing festivals in temples.
