March 18, 2012: IUML district secretariat on Sunday ousted five activists who manhandled senior party leaders at the crucial district council meeting held on Saturday to announce the panel of office-bearers approved by the party leadershipAmong those who were suspended from the IUML party are Mohammad Kunji Thayilangadi, Hameed Badire, A A Azeez, Naushad and Mujeeb Thayilangadi.
The commotion, that lasted for nearly an hour, yesterday as the district office bearers’ approved panel was announced by IUML State General Secretary K.P.A. Majid at the Council meeting held at the ‘Murali Mukund’ Auditorium as a section of party workers, loyal to senior leader A. Abdul Rahman, were found charging menacingly towards E.T. Mohammed Basheer, MP, also party State General Secretary, for not finding name of their leader for the contentious post of the district unit Secretary.
