Tvm: Corp to setup pipe compost units in all houses

 Saturday, March 17, 2012: As a solution to the present garbage issue in the city, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has decided to set up pipe compost units in all the households in the city.
The pipe-compost units for waste disposal will be setup in one lakh houses in the Corporation limits. A single pipe-compost unit will cost Rs 813.
The units would be set up by accredited agencies, recognised service providers and voluntary organisations, according to the specifications set by the Corporation. A Corporation-level committee and Corporation-level working committee and ward-level committees will be formed for the effective implementation of the project.
