Govt seeks dismissal of VS’ plea in palmolein case

 Saturday, March 24, 2012: The state government on Saturday requested the Thrissur Court to dismiss the petition filed by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandhan and Alphonse Kannathanan in the sensational 1992 palmolein import case.
V.S. had challenged an investigation report by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) giving a clean chit to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the deal. It is not sure if it was VS who had first filed the petition in the palmolein case. So Achuthanandan has no right to intervene in the case.
