Jagathi’s condtion stable: Medical Bulletin


Sunday, March 11, 2012: Hospital sources on today said the actor Jagathy Sreekumar’s condition was stable but would continue under 48-hour observation and he had been put on a ventilator.
Karthikeya Varma, who led the surgical team which performed a surgery on the actor’s stomach to stop internal bleeding, later told reporters that the operation was successful.
A team of top medical experts is monitoring the condition of the ace actor at the private hospital where he is admitted.
“He requires a few more surgeries as he has got multiple injuries and with one now over, the team of doctors will now decide about the other surgeries to be performed,” said hospital sources.
The actor, whose liver was also affected from the accident, underwent a surgery. His condition was improving after the surgery, said doctors.
Jagathy, 62, has acted in more than 1,000 Malayalam films.
The accident had occurred near the Kozhikode University campus around 4.30 a.m, when the Innova car carrying him hit a divider.
The driver of the car escaped with minor injuries, while the actor was badly hurt.
