P C George behind Selvaraj’s resignation, says VS

KANHANGAD: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan attacked the Oommen Chandy Government for the resignation of R Selvaraj. VS accused Chief Whip P C George of playing a vital role in the resignation of the CPM leader.

George had earlier threatened a vigilance court judge by accusing him of being a terrorist and a Pakistan spy, which paved the way for his resignation, alleged VS. Chandy too has a role in the conspiracy, VS told reporters.

There is a conspiracy to defeat the CPI (M) in the Piravom bypoll for which the UDF is using money power, he said. He termed as baseless on Selvaraj’s allegations that the CPM are targeting VS loyalists. Selvaraj had not leveled any complaints before, VS said in reply to a question.
