Jagathy’s condition improves, recognises family members

Tuesday, March 20, 2012: The condition of Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who was seriously injured in a road accident at Panambra on March 10, has improved further.
Jagathy has been able to recognise his family members today. The family members told that they were thinking of shifting Jagathy to Vellore hospital for further treatment after two weeks.
A medical bulletin issued by the MIMS said the actor’s “general condition” was satisfactory. As a part of the process of removing him from ventilator permanently, he was removed from ventilator support for a long time yesterday and was breathing on his own, but it was reconnected so as not to get him tired.
A tracheotomy procedure was done this morning “to avoid uneasiness (to him) by connecting and disconnecting ventilator tubes in his mouth,” it said.
