Kozhikode: One killed in cracker unit explosion

Friday, March 23, 2012: A 38-year-old woman working in a fire cracker unit near Kakoor here, died on the spot after a powerful blast demolished the godown on Friday morning.
Police identified the deceased as Sheeba, hailing from Kozhikode. Two other female employees, who sustain second degree burns, have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
The officials who inspected the spot suspect that friction while handling chemicals could have led to the accident.
