New Promotion Policy for govt employees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The promotion norms for the government employees in Kerala will be revised. Addressing the Budget session of the 13th State Legislative Assembly, Governor H R Bharadwaj Thursday said the State Training Policy for the promotions of Government employees would be revised.

"The Policy will be revised so that all officers will undergo mandatory induction training as well as different phases of training to be eligible for promotions to higher positions," he added. The Government strongly believes that for delivering services effectively to the people of the State, a responsive bureaucracy committed to Government's charter of growth and development is a pre-requisite. The Government would be receptive to the problems and grievances of public servants and would move forward with their full cooperation in the implementation of these policies and programmes. To identify and recognize innovations and best practices in governance, the Government will institute awards for excellence in these areas, for which a Centre of Good Governance will be created in IMG to make this process sustainable, he said.
