Search continues for missing fishermen: Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said an inquiry will be conducted into the death of fishermen, and an intensive search is being conducted to trace the missing fishermen.


Talking to newspersons here, Chandy said a massive search is going on to trace the vessel, which collided the fishing boat anchored off Cherthala, early this morning. Two fishermen were killed while three fishermen were reportedly missing and two others rescued by other fishing boats in the area. The ill-fated boat with seven fishermen ventured from Kollam Fishing Harbour on Sunday last. The Coast Guard along with the Navy is jointly conducting the search operations to trace the missing fishermen, he added.
