Private bus strike withdrawn in Kannur

Tuesday, March 06, 2012: The Private Bus Operators Co-ordination Committee has called off the bus strike in Kannur district following talks held with ADM.
The bus operators have decided to go for indefinite strike from today onwards as a protest against the incident in which two private buses were set ablaze by some unknown miscreants near Mayyil on Monday morning.
The buses were completely gutted when miscreants set fire on the vehicles being parked at a workshop in the wee hours on Monday. No one has been taken into custody in connection with this incident. The Mayyil police have begun investigation.
