Road tax revised in State budget


Monday, March 19, 2012: The State government on Monday announced the revision of Vehicle tax rates, which is expected to generate additional revenue of Rs 115 crore per annum.
Vehicles valued up to five lakhs will have a tax rate of six percent. Between five and ten lakhs eight percent and above fifteen lakhs fifteen percent will be the new road tax.
In the revised structure, Value Added Tax (VAT) on commodities now charged at the rate of four percent would go up to five percent
