Unruly remarks: VS must tender apology, says Chandy

Monday, March 12, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today opined that Opposition leader and CPM stalwart VS Achuthanandan must tender an apology for his remarks against a former CPM leader Sindhu Joy, whom he equated to that of a “woman of loose character”.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Chandy added that no political leader should use such words against women. It was not proper for VS to make a statement like this,” he added.
Meanwhile CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today came out in support of Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan in connection with the controversial remarks.
Pinarayi stated that the Congress had misinterpreted Achuthanandan’s remarks and there is no need to tender an apology.
