Woman succumbs to stab injuries in Thrissur; one held

Friday, March 23, 2012: A 27-year-old woman, who sustained serious stab wounds in an attack by one of her relatives on Thursday died at a private hospital here today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jisha, hailing from Aalangod, police told. The local police have arrested one person identified as Suneesh (31) in connection with the brutal murder. According to the police Suneesh’s wife Sowmya was trying for a divorce from her husband due to some family disputes and was residing with Jisha.

Even though Suneesh had blackmailed and threatened her wife several times to live with him she refused. On Thursday, Suneesh reached Jisha’s home and stabbed her (Jisha) mistaking her for his own wife. Suneesh, who tried to escape soon after the crime, was apprehended by the locals and handed over to the police.
