Case against inspector for not recording Chandrabose’ statement

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Upa Lokayuktha Wednesday registered a case against Peramangalam circle inspector Biju Kumar for not recording the statement of Chandrabose, the security guard, who died after attacked by the noted industrialist Muhammed Nisham. Upa Lokayuktha Justice K T Balachandran has sought an explanation from him for not recording the statement of Bose when he was in a condition to talk.

The clarification of the police was that Bose was not in a situation to speak as his health condition did not permit that. However, doctor Reneez Davis, who treated the victim, said Bose was able to speak.There were allegations that his statement was not recorded due to pressure and intervention from top levels as it may turn as his last statement and if it is so Nisham would be found guilty. The Upa Lokayuktha registered a suo motu case as per media reports.
