Cocaine case: Court rejects demand seeking extension of custody

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court Tuesday rejected the demand of the police seeking extension of the accused custody in the cocaine case. They were produced in the court today as the period of custody ended today. The police informed the court that the girls are addicted to drugs and are also involved in the smuggling of the stuff.

The police, who went to Goa with the first and second accused-Reshma Rangaswamy and Blessy Sylvester for taking some evidence, returned empty-handedly.

The police went to Goa to find one Frank, who supplied the drugs to the girls. The police didn’t get enough time as the custody period of the accused ends here today. Not only that many were able to flee the place after Goa dailies carried the news of the girls.
