'Film producers, politicians conspired, Nishanthini shunted out'

KOCHI: According to reports, efforts are being made at the government level to see that the current probe in the Kochi cocaine case doesn’t harm the who is who in the cinema-political arena.

The attempt to sabotage the case has been made by transferring Kochi City Police commissioner R Nishanthini who had vigorously handled the case which included a youth actor, as well. It is presumed that the DCP was transferred owing to pressure from a  well-known producer and certain important persons in the New generation film industry.

From the beginning, Nishanthini had taken a strong stand against Kochi drug mafia. She had made a secret raid in Dream, Kochi’s five star hotel located at Kadavanthra, when a night party was going on there. She also had seized drugs from a posh car in Kochi. These two incidents had made Nishanthini a star in the people’s eye but she has been in the bad books of the drug mafia ever since. The posh car belonged to a film producer and the police are on the lookout for him.

In the cocaine case involving actor Shine Tom Chacko and four models also, the producer’s name was mentioned by the models in their statement. They had reportedly said that it was the producer who supplied them drugs. Nishanthini was shunted out as it was almost sure that the probe will also implicate the producer, eventually.
