THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet which met here Wednesday decided to seek an explanation from police housing construction managing director DGP Jacob Thomas. The explanation is sought for talking to the media without permission in connection with his transfer.
Thomas after taking charge as the managing director of the housing construction had told media that 77 big buildings were constructed violating security in the state. He said that though a notice was issued to these buildings while serving as the fire force chief, he was removed from the post before taking further steps. This statement of Thomas came up for discussion in the cabinet.
Excise Minister K Babu brought the subject to the attention of the cabinet and requested to seek an explanation from him for taking a stand against the government. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala too agreed on it. Once the explanation is obtained, the government will decide whether more steps are needed.
