VS writes to govt over Microfinance graft

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has written to the chief minister and home minister demanding an inquiry into the alleged Microfinance corruption involving SNDP yogan general secretary Vellapally Natesan.

In the letter it has been alleged that Vellapally took crores of rupees as loan from Scheduled banks  and Backward class Development Corporation for Microfinance  at two percent interest and distributed among women at 12 percent interest. The rest 10 percent commission has been pocketed by him

“The money, earned by women by crushing coconut husks and making coir and remitted in yogams finance units are not being used to pay back loans in the Coproration and banks. Though reports of Accounts General and police over the anomalies are there with the home minister he says he has not got any report. Therefore the issue needs a comprehensive inquiry,” he said.
