PSC to introduce online tests

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: To enhance and quicken the process of selection and appointment of qualified professionals for various posts, the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to translate written exams to online tests. Mock test of various examinations will be held in this month itself.

In the first phase, online tests will be carried out for those examinations where the number of applicants is low and which demands technical knowledge.  

Three members of PSC had visited Staff Selection Commission, Rajasthan PSC and IBPS (Mumbai) which conducts online tests, and submitted a report before Kerala PSC describing the manner of conducting exams there.

The online examination will be conducted through software developed by CDIT. The workability of the new system was ensured earlier.

The advantages of one line test are:
1. The result could be published on the day of examination
2. Rank list preparation and certificate verification could be made faster
3. More transparency
4. The expense of conduction of examination could be lowered.
5. The number of officers could also be reduced
