Age limit for appearing in PSC exams raised to 36

Thursday, March 22, 2012: Finance Minister KM Mani on Thursday informed the Assembly that the age limit for appearing in the Kerala Public Service Commission examinations has been raised from 35 to 36.
Meanwhile, the march taken out by the Yuva Morcha activists to Secretariat against the state government’s move to raise the pension age to 56 years, turned violent here on Thursday.
The activists, who tried to barge into the secretariat complex, were blocked by the police that resulted in a scuffle between them. The police resorted to lathicharge and used water cannons to disperse the agitated mob.

The govt has to be realistic and should raise the upper age for applying for Govt posts to 38 as the job seekers who are now nearing the age of 35 have to wait for another 3 years for the current PSC lists to get cancelled.
