Muraleedharan pours cold water on Selvaraj’s plan

Sunday, March 18, 2012: Former KPCC President K Muraleedharan, MLA, today claimed the United Democratic Front candidate Anoop Jacob would win the Piravom by-election by between 5,000 to 10,000 votes.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the high percentage of polling yesterday was an indicator to the victory of the UDF candidate.
Muraleedharan said there was no need for UDF to field an independent at Neyyattinkara constituency, where CPI-M’s R Selvaraj recently resigned his membership and from the party. A Congress candidate, nominated by AICC President Sonia Gandhi should contest the by-poll on the party’s symbol, he said.
There was no need to encourage or discourage people leaving other political parites due to internal differences within their organisations party, he said.
