BJP hints at pre-poll alliance with SNDP Yogam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP president V Muraleedharan has hinted at pre-poll alliance between the BJP and SNDP yogam in the run up to elections including local body polls. At a press conference on Friday he said the possibility for BJP-SNDP alliance could not be ruled out.  “Now the BJP has a closely knit relationship with the SNDP,” he said.

“Discussions regarding local body polls should happen at regional level. Later it will be decided what kind of discussions it should be. Is there need for alliance? how many seats should be given to SNDP?...such things need to be discussed in detail later,” he said.

“The BJP is the only party which has always fought against the Congress and CPM politically.  We now welcome SNDP also for joining us in our fight. The news of the kind that Vellapally would be made the chief ministerial candidate is totally false. If BJP’s national president has attended a meeting, it is like the whole party attending the meeting,” he explained.

To the question who will lead the third front, Muraleedharan said the answer for that could not be given then. “Let the child take birth first,” he quipped.
