Chicken shop opened at Kalabhavan; Unnithan to move out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opening of chicken shop at Kalabhavan (Vazhuthacaud), the headquarters of State Film Development Corporation,  has left Corporation chairman and Congress leader Rajmohan Unnithan huffing and puffing. He has decided to move his office out of the building.

Unnithan has taken the stand that he would not work in the present office as a mark of protest against opening the chicken shop. Now he plans to move into a rented building outside the complex as and when it becomes available.  The chicken shop located at the ground floor of the building was inaugurated today.

Till he gets a new building Unnithan will examine files from home. However he is known to have vowed to bring back to the same building all offices related to KSFDC including the sensor board that once had to move out at the behest of former ‘Film minister’ and the board.

The decision to start the chicken shop was taken before Unnithan took over as KSFDC chairman. Though he protested tooth and nail, there was no use. Rs 3 crore was spent by a hotel magnet to start the chicken shop on the 2600 sq feet ground floor of Kalabhavan. And, to pay that much amount to evacuate them would be suicidal for the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. That was the reason why Unnithan’s wish couldn’t materialise.
