Finish road repair works before Mandala season: HC to govt

KOCHI: Kerala High Court has given an ultimatum to the government to get the repair works of roads and bridges done before November first week.

“The repair works of roads should be completed before Mandala puja season,” the court instructed.

“The works of the roads should not be halted in the name of election or administrative sanction. It is the right of the people to travel through good and well-maintained roads. This order will be in effect in the coming years, as well,” a bench headed by Chief Justice Ashok Bhooshan pointed out.   

Sabarimala Special Commissioner and other government departments including public works department had submitted a report regarding road repair works to the high court. The court’s gave the order after it examined the report.
