KSRTC strike: Services got disrupted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 24-hour bus strike called by KSRTC Employees association under CITU has affected bus services across the State. In most depots including Thampanoor depot buses didn’t operate services.

Though other units in the Corporation had withdrawn from the strike, about half of the services could not run regular services along National Highways, NH Bypass and State Highways.

The strike brought lots of inconvenience to the public. Many could reach their destination only after waiting for long hours. Most of the buses were overcrowded with passengers.

The strike will continue till midnight on Tuesday. Though police have declared protection to the employees going to work, there were attempts at East Fort and Thampanoor to block vehicles. The tension in the area was relieved after the police intervened and dispersed the protestors. The police personnel are also camping in the area.
