NEW DELHI: Kerala will go to polls for Assembly election on May 16. The election will be held in one phase and the election will be held in all 140 constituency at one go. Election notification will come out on April 22. The date for submission of nomination is April. The scrutiny of nomination will be held on April 30. The date for withdrawal of nomination is May 2.
The vote counting will take place on May 19 itself.
Announcing the above dates, Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi said the election model code of conduct has come into effect following the announcement of the election dates.
Assembly elections will also be held in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry between April 4 and May 16. Votes in all five states and one union territory will be counted on May 19.
