Case against me a conspiracy: P K Jayalakshmi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Minister P K Jayalakshmi has said the case against her is the outcome of a controversy against her. She said that certain staff was behind it. “I have not given lands to my relatives illegally. I’m ready to face any allegation. If these allegations are proved right, I would end my political career,” the former Minister for Welfare of Backward Communities said.

Meanwhile, Yuva Morcha took out a Collectorate march, demanding action against Jayalakshmi. Her effigy was also burnt. Adivasi Gothra Sabha leader C K Janu said if Jayalakshmi had committed mistake she should be get punished.
The allegation is that former minister and a few staff under her had committed irregularity in the scheme of the former UDF government to write off loans granted to Adivasis, subject to certain conditions. The amount set apart for debt-relief scheme in Manathavadi of Wayanad had been  swindled by the minister and her family, said reports.

In the assembly, Minister Balan had confirmed the above report. He also asked for Principal Secretary to submit a report to him after an inquiry. Vigilance inquiry will be declared after that.
