KOZHIKODE: Kerala Vyapari Vyavasai Ekopana Samithy has called for an indefinite strike from Tuesday, seeking the Central government to sort out flaws in the regulation of Rs 500/1000 notes. They said that the withdrawal of Rs 500 and 1000 had badly affected their sales and the strike would be in protest against the decision.
Samithy representatives said imposing restrictions on notes without adequate alternative arrangements had inconvenienced the merchants. “The merchants is paying the price for the Centre’s mismanagement. Following the economic reform, the sales have also come down drastically,” they added.
