Mass transfer in police; Tele communication officers shunted out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 40 pro-UDF Police Telecommunication Association members including former district representatives were transferred to far-off districts in the name of disciplinary action.

The mass transfer came following the completion of Police association election. Usually transfer is done after inviting options. An officer is transferred outside a district only as per request or on the basis of mutual understanding between two police officers.

Policemen from Thiruvananthapuram were transferred to Kottayam and Pathanamthitta and those from there to Ernakulam.

Malappuram policemen were shifted to Kozhikode Rural and Aluva police were shifted to Alappuzha. Currently, there is no any disciplinary action or inquiry against any one of them.

Most of them have not completed at least three years’ service at their present location.
