Once Miss World and soon a proud mama-to-be, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marks her birthday today. The pregnant actress, who has taken a sabbatical from her professional commitments for the time being, turned 38 today.
Born in 1973, the architecture student never looked back after she won the coveted Miss World crown in 1994, stepping into the world of modelling and then films. Mani Ratnam launched Rai in his Tamil biopic, ‘Iruvar’ in 1997. She followed this with her Bollywood launch in ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’.
Known for her performances in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Dhoom 2′ and ‘Jodha Akbar’, the actress has also worked in several overseas projects like ‘Bride and Prejudice’, ‘Provoked’ and ‘The Pink Panther 2′. However, these have not been as successful as some of her Indian ventures like her recent film ‘Enthiran’ with Rajinikanth.
