Actor Asif Ali detained, let off

MALAPPURAM: Film actor Asif Ali was held by the police at Tirurangadi on Monday for following the vehicle of Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes P K Jayalakshmi in a suspicious manner. Asif Ali’s BMW car followed the Minister’s pilot vehicle for a few kilometres on the National Highway, raising suspicion among the escort team. The police stopped the actor’s car at Kooriyad and warned the driver not to chase the Minister. The car was again stopped at Pookiparamba. The police took Mr. Asif Ali to Tirurangadi police station.
