Surprise checks at doctors’ residences
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) conducted checks on government doctors attached to medical college hospitals across the state following reports of some of them engaging in private practice. VACB Director Mahesh Kumar Singla said the checks were conducted at residences of about 40 doctors in districts where there were government medical colleges. Around 10 doctors were found engaged in private practice, in violation of a government order prohibiting the same. A report would be submitted to the government, he added. From Thrissur: The VACB conducted raids on the residence of medical college doctors here on Saturday following complaints.
