Girls sweep top ranks in KU B.Sc. examinations



THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Girl students swept the first ranks of the BSc examinations of the University of Kerala, the last of the regular annual stream courses—the results of which were published here on Saturday. Of the 14 first ranks, 12 were bagged by girls. The first rank in Mathematics was shared by four students.


Of the 6,698 students who wrote the examinations, 3,801, passed with a first class, 1,099, with a second class and 461 with a third class. The pass percentage is 79.59. In 2011, the pass percentage was 76.25. The highest pass percentage was for Biochemistry--93.80. The lowest pass percentage was for Polymer Chemistry-59.7. The highest number of students- 1,485 appeared for Mathematics. The results are available at the University web site www.keralauniversity.ac.in. Applications for revaluation and scrutiny could be submitted till August 1. The mark lists would be despatched to the respective centres by July 20.
