Notice to Air India in gold smuggling case

CHENNAI: Revenue Intelligence issued a notice to the Air India seeking action to prevent some employees smuggling gold and some aiding others to smuggle the stuff. The notice sent by revenue intelligence director Najeeb to Air India chairman and managing director Rohit Nandan has asked to make strict examination of employees.

The DRA has asked the full details of the employees involved in the smuggling. The revenue intelligence had seized gold worth 1.84 crores from the Air India Express flight from Dubai to Kozhikode and 32 kilos of gold biscuits from the toilet near to the cockpit of the Air India flight to Chennai.
