Kerala Congress P C Thomas group splits

KOTTAYAM: ‘Ceasefire’ bid has been aborted and Kerala Congress P C Thomas group witnessed a split in the group. The process will be complete once the Skariah Thomas group meeting in Kottayam on Saturday takes disciplinary action against P C Thomas.

Though a ‘ceasefire’ was declared by the two groups following CPM leader Pinarayi Vijayan’s ‘threat’ to expel both the groups from the LDF if group fights prevailed, situation worsened so as to make the split indispensable.

Party Chairman P C Thomas was assigned by leaders in his group at a meeting in Kochi to take action against Skariah Thomas. Decision was also made then to take action against Party general secretary George Sebastin for going to housewife Sandhya’s house to tender an apology over Cliff House blockade.

Skariah’s new decision is a fallout of  Thomas group’s decisions against Skariah group at the meeting.  Sakariah group will also take action against P C Thomas for attending an RSS function, “bringing shame to the LDF”. In Kottayam both groups have separate offices.

Meanwhile Skariah blamed PC Thomas for splitting the Thomas group by calling a separate meeting of the latter’s new group in Kochi first, violating the ‘ceasefire’. On the other hand, P C Thomas said Skariah had become a pawn in the hands of a Congress group in the UDF who wanted to prevent his Kottayam MP seat in the coming Lok Sabha election.
