THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The late Congress leader and former Kerala chief minister K Karunakaran was an able administrator and a role model for the country, said President Pranab Mukherjee.
The president was addressing the audience after inaugurating the statue of Karunakaran on the premises of Kanakakkunnu palace here on Friday.
“A popular leader need not be an able statesman but in the case of Karunakaran, both these qualities were there. In people’s heart there was a place for him. Political leaders could very well emulate the leadership qualities of Karunakaran,” said the president.
