Ban students’ organisations if they can’t be disciplined: HC

KOCHI: The authorities concerned should ban students’ organisations if they cannot be disciplined, the Kerala High court has said. The court’s oral remark came on Wednesday when it was considering a petition that said students’ organisations hindered study hours in Ernakulam Law college by consistently calling for strikes.

“In the name of organisational activities, students cannot go on a rampage. This can’t be allowed. Students’ organisations cannot be expected to function without any sense of obedience. Unnecessary strikes will only help in cutting down the number of valuable teaching hours,” the court observed.
