Thiruvanchoor to continue as minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala will enter Oommen Chandy’s cabinet as Home Minister shortly, present Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan would continue as a minister with some other portfolio, according to sources. This information was out Tuesday morning, notwithstanding the early reports that Thiruvanchoor would cease to be a minister for the time being and will resume the post of a minister after the cabinet reshuffle.

The presumption is that Thiruvanchoor will get Forest ministry, now handled by the chief ministe and also Vigilance. A clear picture about this is expected to evolve by Tuesday evening and the chief minister is expected to announce the final changes at a press meet in the evening.

Thiruvanchoor on Tuesday morning met Defence Minster A K Antony at the latter’s residence in Thiruvananthapuram. When asked about the meeting, Thiruvanchoor didn’t divulge any details, while Antony said the Chief minister and KPCC president will make announcements regarding the change of ministers in the evening.
