Brain behind Maoist operation in Kerala is native of Malappuram, says police

PALAKKAD: Police has revealed that the person who has been controlling Maoist operations in Kerala is one Moidheen, hailing from Malappuram and known in the Maoist circle as ‘Sakhavu’. He has lost his right palm. He based his activities along Kerala-Karnataka border. The above information was disclosed by the police team investigating Nitta Gelatin attack case.

The police further informed that Moidheen was in charge of Urban Action team that carried out Maoist operations in Kerala’s Adivasi regions and other areas. He also had a role in the attack unleashed against Nitta Gelatin company's corporate office in Kochi.  He is a witness to the incident in which a Maoist accidently died when the latter tried to detonate a bomb.  He is hiding somewhere along Kerala-Karnataka border. Police has also got evidence to prove his role in the attacks in the Attapadi Adivasi region.
