Police officials not shifted, says Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: None of the police officials have been shifted, said Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. When two officials retired, the other two was elevated, he said. He said this while replying to the media in appointing vigilance ADGP as fire force DGP.

Chennithala said the elevation of Jacob Thomas is a natural step. The number of crimes in the state has been reduced. 64,166 persons have been arrested as part of Operation Suraksha in the past three months. The home department will go forward with stringent action against those involved in anti-social activities. Clean Kerala, Safe Kerala projects will start again from Monday onwards.

Those selling ganja and drugs in school premises will be sternly dealt with. Action was not taken against former MD Riji R Nair over the corruption in consumer fed as there was no clarity in the vigilance report.
