THRISSUR: In the case relating to the murder of Congress Ayyanthol Mandalam Secretary Madhu Echaram, the court has sentenced convict number one to six for double life term and the seventh convict for a life term.
It was for Prem (28), Martin (29), Shinoj (26), Praveen (28), Prajeeth (28), Suresh (29) and Sanoop (26) that the punishment was awarded by Thrissur Fast Track Court.
The convicts were also fined a total amount of Rs 7.1 lakh. Out of the fine amount, Rs 3 lakh should be given to Madhu’s wife.
The incident related to the case took place on June 1, 2013. Madhu who was returning from temple with his wife was hacked to death in front of Ayyanthol Karthiyayani temple.
