District collector granted leave due to flaw in Operation Anantha ?

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  There are hints that flaws in Operation Anantha has cost District Collector Biju Prabhakar dearly. The alleged mess in the execution of the project is said to be the reason for the government’s decision to grant him two week’s leave to go for training in America. Whether he would be asked to resume his job as Thiruvananthapuram district collector is also not certain now.

Operation Anantha is the project to check the water-logging at East Fort and Thampanoor. The aim is to complete the project before May 31. Though the work is progressing at fast pace, some top officials are of the opinion that there has been some errors in the project. Many complaints were also raised against demolishing certain buildings and avoiding some others.

Biju had asked leave to go to John Hopkins’ University in Washington for two weeks’ training. The leave was granted yesterday evening. He has been replaced with Kollam Collector J A Koushik.
