KGS group not given permission, says Union minister

NEDUMBASSERY: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has clarified that the KGS Group has not been given the permission to conduct environmental impact study on Aranmula airport project. He was speaking to media persons at Nedumbasery airport on Saturday.

“The current status is that the Supreme Court has upheld the Green Tribunal order cancelling the environmental sanction. Even if the KGS group gives an application, it can’t be considered. The sanction given by the earlier UPA government for environmental impact study was cancelled by the present government. Within two weeks a meeting of state ministers will be called to discuss the implementation of Kasturi Rangan report,” the minister said.
