Congress in harmony with communalism, says Pinarayi

THRISSUR: The congress is in harmony with communalism, said CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan. Talking at a face to face programme of the Thrissur Press Club, he said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is trying to take forward communalism through the partnership of SNDP and RSS.

Pinarayi said such partnerships will only lead to shatter secularism. Communal forces grew up in India due to the lax attitude of the congress. The Left Front had always taken a stand against the communalism. Communalism is not able to orchestrate its root in Kerala due to the strong stand taken by the Left front and the public wishing secularism. Parties like the RSS, SDPI and Jama Athe Islami are not like that.

People are being killed in the name of cow in the centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the protector of RSS. Amit Shah rebuking leaders of Sangh Parivar, inciting communalism, is a drama. Some cultural leaders are also joining hands with them. The attitude of people like P Valsala is unfortunate, he said.

Cherian Philip was earlier in the congress. His Facebook post may have cited something which he knew then. He had later opined that the post was not meant to insult women, Pinarayi said in reply to a question.
