Death of Saswathikananda: Action if complaint is lodged, says Chennithala

KOCHI: If a complaint is lodged by the relatives of Swamy Saswathikananda in connection with his death, then it will be handed over to the investigating agency, said Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. However, the agency has to take a decision whether a probe should be conducted or not, he told reporters here.

Whether a further probe is required or not is not decided by the chief minister or the home minister. If a complaint is lodged, then it will be handed over to the investigating agency and that is the procedure. The case was earlier investigated and closed by the crime branch.

An investigation would be conducted only if anything new is found in the revelations of Biju Ramesh, he said.
