Relatives of Saswathikananda lodge complaint seeking probe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The relatives of Swamy Saswathikananda lodged a complaint to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy seeking a further probe on the suspicious death of Swamy Saswathikananda. The complaint was handed over to the chief minister at the Cliff House. The chief minister informed them that further steps will be taken after discussing with Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.

The case was earlier investigated by the crime branch and if there are any new evidences, chances for a further probe will be examined, the chief minister said.

In the meanwhile, the affidavit submitted in the court in 2004 by the home department claiming the death by drowning has been exposed. On the basis of scientific evidence, the report said the death was by drowning.

Sree Narayana Dharmavedi general secretary Biju Ramesh had earlier alleged that Priyan, the rented killer, murdered the swamy. Following that, ADGP entrusted crime branch SP K Madhu to submit a report on the chances of a further probe in the case.
