To eat beef or not is at one's discretion

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president V Muraleedharan has said that whether to eat meat or not is at one’s discretion. “The BJP government is not trying to remove beef from one’s plate. The party is also not of the opinion that cow slaughter ban should come into existence. The Centre has not taken any decision in this regards. The campaign going on now on this issue is aimed at tainting the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government,” he said.

He said there was no move to bring former State President P P Mukundan back into the party. He is not even BJP’s Panchayat Committee member. Moreover, he had not expressed his wish to return to the party.

“BJP will gain a lot in the coming local body election. CPM making allegations against the SNDP in the run up to the election is done with the intention to help the Congress. Let they present evidence for their allegations,” he said

Muraleedharan asked why CPM had not conducted a probe into Swami Saswathikananda’s murder when it was in power. He also demanded Cheriyan Philip to withdraw his anti-woman statement and tender an apology.
