Mukundan's move not taken at face value: Kummanam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said the threat that former BJP leader P P Mukundan will contest as BJP rebel is not taken at face value. "It is said that some people have been forcing Mukundan to contest the election. There is nothing unnatural about it. If he decides to contest, we shall do what is necessary then," Kummanam said at a press conference here on Wednesday.

Kummanam said the party wants to bring all former leaders back to it. "The party doesn't have the custom of keeping away former leaders including Mukundan. Discussions have been held a few times in this regard but it will take time. We can’t say that will get over before the Assembly election."

The BJP leader said actor Suresh Gopi might not contest the election but stars including him will actively campaign for the party.
